Midsomer Quilting Classes

We run classes almost every Saturday and, occasionally, midweek or on a Sunday. Our programme is regularly updated, both on this site and in our newsletters.

We are particularly proud of our regular team of excellent teachers who from time to time are joined by teachers from around the world, and on several occasions quilters have flown from Italy, Spain and Germany - Canada, even - especially to attend classes here.

The minimum level of skill that we recommend for each class is indicated with the class details. ‘Beginner plus’ indicates it’s for an established quilter or one who has attended a quilting course for beginners.

What a great team! I really like teaching here. From the minute you walk into this great quilt shop you are made welcome by De, Chris and Birgitta. From the aroma of brewing coffee to the fantastic ever changing fabrics on the overflowing shelves - and the witty repartee - this is an experience not to be missed. What is there not to like?!

To reserve a place on a course, you are advised to contact us as early as possible to check on availability. This can be done either when you are at the shop or by phone on 01761 239333.  If yours is a phoned booking then we’d be grateful if you could print out your booking form here and post it together with a non-returnable deposit of £10.00 per class (or payment in full if you’d rather) to the address shown on the form. Please note that the amount charged for all classes includes VAT.  In the event of our having to cancel the class your deposit would naturally be refunded.

Workshop Programming
There are workshop activities at MQ virtually every day that we are open. If a workshop space appears to be unused any time it’s probably because it has been booked for City and Guild classes (details are available from Lynne Quinn lynne_quinn@hotmail.com); or perhaps for one of De’s Beginners’ Classes* or our regular Open Days* (*contact us for details of both: 01761 239333). The room might also be in use for an exhibition; a talk, or for another private booking - such as a quilt group’s Weekend Retreat; a ‘Project Linus’ Day, or perhaps it’s been booked for a private birthday celebration for a quilter and friends . . .   Mondays and Fridays are set aside for groups that use the room on a weekly basis. (Or, then again, it could be Easter Sunday, or Christmas Day or another day when we have no option but to remain shut. Sorry!)

Midsomer Quilting is the nicest, kindest, friendliest, shop I've ever taught in.

And they have some fabulous fabrics too!          Alicia Merrett
