| Workshops and Classes
We do our best to provide a good variety of classes and will be pleased to send you details on request. To give you some idea of our excellent team of teachers our recent programmes have included courses led by Anne Baxter, Margaret Beal, Dawn Cameron-Dick, Maggie Davies, Sharon Garrick, Janice Gunner, Jan Hassard, Edwina MacKinnan, Judi Mendelssohn, Alicia Merrett, Catherine Millar, Pat Nicholls, De Pickford, Christine Porter, Carol Stevenson, Pam Stokes and Elspeth Weatherstone.
You’ll find more about our workshop on our Shop Page but we do now have a brand new classroom which is well equipped with sewing machines, ironing boards and so on. We have ample space for twelve quilters (each working with sewing machines at their own 5' x 2'6” table) and room for more if machines aren’t needed. All-day parking is free. Like the shop, our workshop has excellent access for the disabled (there is only one step, from the shop into the workshop, but even that can be avoided by using the outside door). There are also plenty of trollies that can be used to convey your sewing machine from your car and into the workshop!
We are pleased to be running free introductory classes for children between six and sixteen (accompanied by an adult) as well as very successful follow-up classes for those who want to take things further (and they all do!).
Coffee and biscuits are always available and we also have a microwave and a fridge for groups to use (and a dishwasher for us!).
