Our shop is out in the country (10 miles from Bath and 16 from Bristol). It's in old farm buildings in the grounds of Norton Green Garden Centre in Chilcompton. You'll find that we have plenty of free parking space within a few feet of our door, and excellent wheelchair access to both the shop and our workshop.
We now have well over 2000 fabrics; scores of quilting books (and one other), as well as notions and patterns and quilting gifts. Before, during or after your shopping you are warmly invited to relax in our easy chairs, and enjoy a cup of coffee (or tea) - two if you like! (With papers and reading material also available some have called it our crèche for men!)
We are open from 10 am until 4 pm on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays (10.30 opening) and Mondays, but closed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays - other than for group visits (which are a regular feature) or for dire quilting emergencies.
Seven groups use our workshop for regular informal meetings. Three meet on Mondays (morning afternoon and evening) and two more meet on Fridays. In addition we are pleased to welcome a group of quilters from Bath which uses the workshop for their own regular meetings. We also have a Project Group (below left) which works exclusively on charitable projects or competition quilts. New members are welcomed at all of the groups. Please call the shop for details.

We are very pleased to welcome regular (and often repeat) visits by quilting groups, and flattered that some travel considerable distances to get to us. On our ‘Coming a Distance?’ page you’ll find a number of suggestions about things you could also do on your day out. We are also happy for groups to use our workshop during their visit and have laid on demonstrations (above right) for several groups - before or after their lunch at the pub. If you would rather, you can ‘picnic’ in the workshop (there is a fridge and microwave in our kitchen for your use) or, alternatively, the pub will deliver delicious baguettes and crisps to your order. Coffee, tea and soft drinks are always available at the shop.
The first sizeable group to visit us was Loders, from near Bridport. Having spent three hours with us they left to go to the pub. Next day we received the following letter:
“Thank you for the lovely morning spent at your shop. All 25 of us had a really good time looking at (and buying) your gorgeous fabrics and other interesting items. It was lovely to be able to sit down with a cup of coffee and biscuits and browse to our hearts’ content. We will tell our friends about you and plan to visit again.
We had a very nice lunch at the Somerset Wagon and send our thanks to them for looking after us so well. Our group was very enthusiastic about your establishment and wondered if it might be feasible for twelve of us to hire a minibus and visit you for a workshop.”
